The examiner will ask themselves this simple question.

"Was It Appropriate?"

In other words, did you provide a lesson that was appropriate to the pupil’s needs and ability in an appropriate area?

Within the Lesson Planning competence you will be assessed on your ability to:

• Identify your learner’s goals and needs
• Deliver a lesson appropriate to the pupil’s experience and ability
• Plan a route and utilise the area in a way that allows the pupil to achieve their goals
• Adapt your lesson or change the focus of your teaching if the needs arise
